man this is just awful. Hard to imagine this is the same band that came out with Yoshimi and the Soft Bulletin. ugh, unlistenable.

It’s good to see the Lips are enjoying their freedom but it’s also about time these guys focus less in the quirky presentations and think more about the music itself… And to stop repeating themselves. What was “Two Blobs Fucking” other than a Zaireeka rehash? And once they come up with something like Embryonic they fuck it up with bloody Dark Side of The Moon!!?? For all I like the Lips, Wayne Coyne never had any real talent anyway. And he never belonged to the “alt” scene, he just spent too much time wishing he could be in Sonic Youth while playing straight Zeppelin riffs! Fact: If it weren’t for Steven D., the Lips’ career highlight would have been playing “She Don’t Use Jelly” at Beverly Hills 90210.

Dude there having Fun!! There last real lp was like 9 or 10 on pitchfork! And Wayne is one of the best front mans in music today!
So quit hating and start to enjoy all music……………. because its not all about YOU!!

Well met J.
Wayne is like a child, if you think they are the pretentious type then you got it all wrong! btw have you seen them live, lately? I saw them last year and it’s EFFING EPIC! the way they put it all together, not to mention the attitude Wayne shows toward the audience. For me talent is not only being capable of playing guitar like the gods, Page or Gilmour, it can also flow from other points…
Many people loved Yoshimi cause it’s easier to swallow, while I was so glad when I first listened Embryonic as it instantly reminded me of the Zaireeka days…
Anyways these are just the Flaming Lips being themselves, nothing more. No one questions Thurston Moore putting out record after record of unintelligible sounds cause the dude’s just belching himself out, and he is in his every right, and he has earned it, just as well as Wayne and the Lips.

You say “they are” having fun, not “there”… And “their” last real LP not “there” again… Or are you having fun with appalling grammar?
