The 110MB “version” is shithouse quality, don’t bother looking for it (I did)
Posted on May 9th, 2011 at 4:01 am
thanks Norbert, wouldn’t have found unless i put “110” into the search box
Posted on May 9th, 2011 at 5:29 am
actually I take that back Norbert, the 110 mb version seems to be only the same 60 mb album twice. However, it seems that there is a 320kbps version floating out there, and it’s 102 mb. Downloading it now, hope it’s good.

I’m not sure. Description says 320kbps but still sounds the same. Could actually be that the album is supposed to sound like this? Dunno.

@def.
Sorry mate, I was downloading the 110 MB version when I made the comment…
Then found it was 5h1te!!
Trying the 102 MB version now. This willl be the last attempt!!

I wonder why it should be too hard to understand that this version is a rip off the current stream of the album. description either says it’s a 320 kb/sek rip or there’s some idiots around who re-rip this as 320 kb/sek (and eventually think quality might increase). however, as i have said several times, people should also add THE SOURCE of it, i. e. “web rip” / “cd” / “promo” and what not. otherwise it’s getting confusing and i for one want at least a bit of quality and thus a web rip won’t do.
just for clarification: my post refers in first place to the discussion above. my hint at adding the source might be directed to the owner of this fantastic site who feeds us with great music everyday.
thanks for giving me a first impression of the album!

The 110mb version album is a 2 (192kbps) version formats – 1st is mp3 format and 2nd is m4a.
Nothing special. I am waiting for the 320 version.

You guys need to get the Spek acoustic analyzer. I just found out about it and it is a god-send for people like me that download a lot of music from the web. That’s how I found out that the Jamie Woon album they had here was really 128k when it said 320k!
You can analyze any song w/ it, just open the file w/ Spek and the higher the spectrum, the higher the bit-rate. I found out that A LOT of stuff has fake bit-rates w/ it. It’s free, easy, and really light-weight. Try it!

Thanks for that Spek thing, it’s so good. so many of my “320kbps” albums/tracks are bullshit.

@ ‘@ KL’: You’re so welcome! I can’t say enough about how useful it’s been to me. I’m glad it is for you too. I’ve found out so much of the music I d/l is not legit. the rate it says it is, so I know I just have to look a little bit harder for the real thing, but it’s worth it to have all my music HQ for real.

@KL
Hey KL,
Cheers for the heads up about Spek. always meaning to look into some software like it cause quality of my music all over the place. But any chance could you give me a very quick explanation on how to read the spectogram?
Thanks,
JB

total crap album compared to their debut…
Posted on May 17th, 2011 at 6:21 am
Whether this album is 196kbps or 320kbps, it’s still absolute rubbish. Friendly Fires have ruined their sound by adding 80’s style synths in an effort to be popular and cool. A real shame, as their debut album was unique and extremely playable. Kids these days are such sheep – baa!
Hey, lets do what everybody else is doing. Baa. Baa…
