   For those who want a better bit rate, why don’t you just download the appropriate software and change the bit rate to whatever you require, it takes a few minutes to change a full album to 192/256 or 320…..Just a thought.

    Cotty – very naive. MP3 isn’t a lossless format – if you convert 128 to 320 you only get bigger files – there’s no increase in quality.

    catty59uk, it doesn’t work like that. you can’t convert from a lower bitrate to a higher one and boost the quality of the sound; you’ll actually make it worse. it’s not the number that’s important, it’s the quality of the sound, and the only way to get true 320kbps is to rip it that way from the source.

    What will changing the bitrate do? it doesn’t make the quality better just causes it to be a transcode, and a waste of time. I can wait for a higher quality version, and as always if i enjoy the album i will puchase the cd because the cd quality shits all over mp3 (except lossless)
