  2. Nax Said,

    Chris is an idiot. Excited to hear this one, but their earlier albums are some of the best rated in all of metal.

  3. Nax's mom Said,

    Nax, quit being such a silly young lad. Shouldn’t you be doing your metal homework, son? Obviously you’ve been falling behind because if you were keeping up you’d know that this band is indeed one giant pile of steaming, stinky christian metalcore.

  5. Chris Said,

    Don’t know anything about progressive metal. Now that is naive. I have a mass collection of music exceeding 70,000 albums and a lot of it is metal covering all genres. Metal is style of music meant for rebellion from any form of authority figure. For instance rebellion of government, corporations, parents, war, RELIGION and anything else. You fuck-tards would know this if you listened to real metal bands. Christian metal, don’t give a shit what you say is such a useless fad that insults the true definition of metal and all it stands for. It’s not a form of rebellion it’s a form of conformity. Then if you wanna defend it by saying they practice christian values and don’t preach it in their music then don’t call yourself christian metal. Call yourself metal. Otherwise all your doing is preaching your religion hiding behind the veil of metal in an attempt to bring others into your flock. Like christian rock and christian rap, just plain crap. Now nax and aborted list me some bands you dig that don’t fall under the christian title. Hint, you can listen many just from this site. Trendy fuckers.

  13. Chris Said,

    @James,
    Christianity is the embodiment of all the things you just listed as it’s rebellion against. Maybe you should study your history. More lives have been lost to Christians wars than any other religion. (Now that in it itself could be the only reason I’d accept Christian Deathcore – by acknowledging the facts of history).

    @kila,
    Not even close to being re-tarted. Maybe if you offer up some real insight or intelligent response might i have not decided to comment once more.

    @John
    I admit I am arrogant and I wouldn’t have pursued this discussion if Aborted and Nux hadn’t taken an attack towards me instead of trying to defend the band. My main frustration lied with NAR inability to incorrectly classified the above band..

    About the above band. If you have done much to listen to bands that didn’t fall under this genre you might would have realized this band like many more is cliche and offers nothing new but the same recycled sound we have heard for the past decade. Re-wrapping it and putting it under a Christian label is just plain feeble.

    Now this band does insult the true definition of metal and the former lead vocalist made a statement on The Full Armor of God broadcast saying and I quote, “If we are not making a difference for the Lord, then we are just out there making noise!” Which to me says all other metal is noise because they are not preaching about Jesus. You would know this if you paid attention.

    Real metal for me is as follows (covering many genres); Pantera, Slayer, Septicflesh, Nile, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, Aborted, Amon Amarth, Swashbuckle, Arch Enemy, Belphgore, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Disfiguring the Goddess, Dying Fetus, In Flames, misery Index, Morbid Angel, Cradle of Filth, Devildriver, Divine Heresy, Corporate Avenger, Psycroptic, Rose Funeral, Job For A Cowboy, System Divide, The Black Dhalia Murder, Dream Theater, Epica, Evanescence, Battlelore, Nevermore, Within Temptation, Fluxiours, Elis, Imperia, Otep, Cavalera Conspiracy, Soulfly, Volbeat, Gojira, Five Finger Death Punch, KMFDM, Machine Head, Devils Gift, Parkway Drive, Meshuggah, Slipknot, Strapping Young Lad, Anthrax, Mastodon, Black Label Society, Children of Bodem, Evile, Exodus, Sanctity, Testament, Shadows Fall, Suicidal Tendencies, AC/DC, Trivium, Skeleton Witch, Dragonforce, Evergrey, Scale The Summit…. This isn’t even the tip of the iceberg. These are just my faves I could think of for now. So now you see what I mean about metal.

  14. Daan Said,

    It’s obvious you just listen to metal to try and be rebellious. You listen to all different kinds of metal just because it has the metal tag.

  16. Chris Said,

    Yeah my wife just found your comment funny. So did my two daughters. Music is my hobby and it’s not about rebellion it’s about the appreciation and respect of the art forum. I get bored easily and have to have a mix of music to enjoy. I don’t just listen to metal. I listen to blues, jazz, classical, electronic, dance, reggae, rock, classic rock, pop, country, rap, Celtic, tribal, folk, film scores, indigenous, pan-flute, new age, & this doesn’t even begin to cover the diversity of the music I love and enjoy. Hell I listen to so much, more than anyone else I know. I don’t limit my listening taste, because I find you’ll miss out on something really wonderful. It’s easier to list what I don’t enjoy which is muzak,bluegrass, christian, gospel, and artist like Barbra Streisand.

    Funny how all these simplistic attacks are made against someone you don’t even know. I think you have taken more offense with the religious aspect and not my original gripe with the mislabeling of the band.
